Last Post

Hello everyone
Sadly today will be my last post as we will be moving on to different subjects and options next school term.
I have taken a lot out of this term and i thoroughly enjoyed interacting with everyone who read and took interest to my blog. We set out to raise the awareness of the pollution of our local Hautapu River and i feel we have succedded immensely.
we put posters all around and we put articles in newspapers, we also made a short film outlineing what pollution is and how we can stop it. I learnt that even a group of only nine people can make a difference to their town.
So once again thank you to everyone who kept in touch with my blogs and thanks for the awesome ideas i was given on how to raise the awareness of River pollution.

Film Making

Hi there everyone
We have had an exciting day making a short documented film. It explores the way people are polluting our local river and it also has a bit of role playing in it to make it that extra bit more exciting. We filmed most of the scenes in the township of taihape. It makes a really good point about how Pollution is happening and what wem can do to stop it. Hopefully we can edit the film by next week and get it out on youtube or another public videoing site.
Thanks to all those who have been checking my bloggs!

News paper Articles

Hi Everyone
Today we gathered in pairs and chose a newspaper to write to. After some hard thinking of what to write to them all the groups had an exceptional article to submit to their newspaper raising the awareness of the Hautapu pollution.
We also had a meeting and talked about what we've been through so far.
we decide we were going to have a sausage sizzle every Tuesday as a fundraiser, so far it looks good as we have sponsors to give us 80 sausages and some onions every Tuesday from our local supermarket (New World), they are also supplying the bread.
We believe we have made a considerable difference in raising the awareness of the badly polluted Hautapu River.

An Iconvenient Truth

Hi All
Today we watched a brilliant movie called an Inconvenient truth. It's all about the Global warming and what we today are doing to destroy tomorrow's future. It was an Academy award winning documentary presented by AL Gore who spoke on what he strongly believed as what will happen to earth in fifty years time, floods, hurricanes and many other world disasters. It is a definite movie to be considered and taken seriously.

Thanks for the comments

Thanks to everyone who responded to my blogs. I really appreciate all the feedback you guys send me in reply to my blogs. Thanks to all those that have given me those awesome websites for me to have a look, there was a lot of information in them and I used a lot of the ideas to carry on for our project.

Business Visits

Hi everybody
Welcome back to my blog.
This morning we had a group meeting to see where were up to and what were some possible ideas on how to raise the awareness of the Hautapu River pollution. We allocated jobs to everyone and set off to do them.
After that we went into town to visit some of the mills and constructions sites to see where they put there waste products.
Our first visit was to Byfords Ready Mix which was excellent in recycling there waste metal and other products, we weren shown around the site and what they do with their waste. Thankfully it was all nicely recycled and none of it went into the Hautapu River.

Next we went to Hautapu Pine and were given a lot of information from them. We were told they have resource consent.
We also ventured out towards mataroa to see what the river was like further up.

Last weeks meeting

Hi everyone welcome back.
Last week we had a very important meeting about what our jobs as individual students were going to be and what we wanted to achieve in the time left of our class. We assigned different jobs to everyone and set out tasks. Unfortunately our teacher was absent during the meeting but it also gave us more responsibility and let us make decisions for ourselves and not to rely on everyone else.
