- opening the cinemas
- recycling collected
- Graffiti free Taihape
- more youth sports opportunities
- our river cleaned up
If you have any ideas or suggestions I would like to hear about them.
Here are a few questions our class has been discussing.
The thing I like most about Taihape?
I like living in a community where everyone knows everyone and they are all friendly. We also have a lot of rugby opportunities and that is great for me as I play rugby.
The thing I like least about Taihape?
I think Taihape needs too many things to improve on like the rubbish disposal and opening the cinema and there is a lot of graffiti going on in Taihape.
If I were Mayor of Taihape i would?
I would improve the rubbish disposal and open the cinema and organise more sporting events.
If i had $10,000 dollars to spend on the Taihape Community?
I would once again open the cinema and organise more sporting events like touch competitions. And I would improve the rubbish disposal and place more rubbish bins around Taihape.
here are our class guidelines below
- participate
- get your work done
- be open to other peoples ideas
- Respect other people and their resources
So once again if you have any ideas I would like to hear about them.

Josh your blog looks great! I am really excited about working with you on this project.
Hey Josh
My name is Cam. Miss Chisholm/Mrs Hansen is a friend of mine, we used to be lifeguards together at Whangamata in the Bay of Plenty. I now live in Auckland but I am hoping to move back to Napier my hometown in a few months time. My wife is from Andover, which is in the county of Hampshire in England.
Good luck with your project I think is is awesome! You will be very surprised at what a difference your class could make especially with something as important as the environment.
Best regards
Cam Marett
Hi Josh,
I grew up in Wellington and am now working for the Australian Government in Canberra on Energy and Environment issues.
I think your project sounds great. Your project is an example of how a small group can contribute to the community - I think you should get your ideas out there and encourage more NZ schools to do something similar. We need to work together to improve our environment!
Good luck!
Hi Josh,

I think your project sounds great! Hope you do get to be mayor some day.
Best wishes
